Privacy Policy

The Sacramento Environmental Justice Coalition (SacEJC) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through our website (sac-ejc.org) and through the SAC EJC mobile app, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The SAC EJC app is free and available for iOS and Android. It is published by City of Trees Tech LLC on the coalition's behalf. In this policy, "we," "us," and "our" mean SacEJC and City of Trees Tech LLC acting for SacEJC.

We collect only the information you choose to give us.

Contact form (app): your name, email address, phone number, subject, and message.

Join form (app): your first and last name, email address, phone number (optional), ZIP code, the interests you select, and a message (optional).

Account (app): if you create an account, we collect your email address, a password, and your full name. Passwords are handled by Supabase Auth and are stored only in hashed form. We never see your password.

Website: when you use the contact form on our website, your message is sent from your own email program to our email address. We receive only what you put in that message. The website has no Join form or sign-in.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers for advertising. The app does not use analytics, crash reporting, or push notifications.

We use your information to:

• Reply to your messages and questions.
• Process your request to join or volunteer, and contact you about the coalition's events, monthly meetings, and the interests you selected.
• Create, secure, and maintain your account, and let you sign in.
• Keep the app and website working and protect them from abuse.

We do not use your information for any other purpose without asking you first.

Supabase. We use Supabase to host our database and handle sign-in (Supabase Auth). Supabase processes your information for us, as our data processor, and only to provide that service. Our Supabase project is hosted in the United States (West US, Northern California).

PayPal. Donations are processed by PayPal. When you tap Donate, the PayPal page opens in your external web browser, outside the app. PayPal handles your payment details under its own privacy policy. We do not receive or store your card or bank details.

• We do not sell or share your personal information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising.
• We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• We do not show ads in the app or on the website.

We keep contact and Join form submissions only as long as we need them to respond to you and stay in touch with you about coalition activities. We delete form submissions 24 months after our last contact with you. We keep account information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your account information as described below.

Your information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with Supabase, which applies access controls and encryption. Only people who need it to do the work above can access it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

The app and website are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email techsupport@cityoftreestech.com and we will delete it.

If you live in California, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use it.
• Delete your personal information.
• Correct inaccurate personal information.
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share it.
• Not be discriminated against for using these rights.

To use these rights, email techsupport@cityoftreestech.com. We may need to confirm your identity, for example by replying from the email address on file. We will respond within the time required by law. Anyone in any state can make these requests too.

You can delete your account at any time:

1. In the app: go to Account, then tap Delete account.
2. Without the app: visit sac-ejc.org/delete-account or email techsupport@cityoftreestech.com from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account."

Deleting your account permanently removes your account (email, password, and full name). You can also ask us to delete your contact and Join form submissions. We complete deletion requests within 30 days.

Our website and app link to partner organizations, resources, and social media sites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please review their policies.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
